Where did you get the cervelo T1? I'm searching the internet dealer of this frames during 2 month, but with no result
Posted over 10 years ago
I was so close to getting that wheelset! Anyways, nice build!

have you blacked out the alloy brakeing sufaces if any? if so how?
Posted about 12 years ago
those arnt firecrest carbon clinchers, those arnt tub tires and i can see the wear indictators on the braking surface. i think they have been coloured in
Posted about 12 years ago
He probably used electrical tape. if you do it right, it turns out good. Or its a firecrest, without the stickers.
Posted about 12 years ago
But its defiantly not firecrest. lol.
It looks like he used sharpie.

am i the only one here who just found out that this frame is mass produce from China?
Posted about 12 years ago
haha, out of the entire line, I think the T1 is the only one manufactured in China..
Posted about 12 years ago
If only I lived in Japan just like my cousins, :( I wanna see that bike in person QQ
Posted about 12 years ago
i really like your builds man, and why is your discwheel clincher? where did you get it? :D
Posted about 12 years ago
Zipp sells a 900 disc clincher version. They're readily available for purchase.

how do you like 55x17?
Posted about 12 years ago
Heavy, but manageable. Not anywhere near as heavy as my other friends riding in Hawaii though.
Posted about 12 years ago
Wow this thing is such a beast! Well done sir, everything on your bike flows together and looks fuckin awesome.
Posted about 12 years ago
Nice bike man!! What kind of chainring bolts are you using? I'm switching to a zen on my omniums. I heard the omniums have longer chainring bolts.
Posted over 12 years ago
Thanks man, I saw you on IG. Someone actually asked the same question on my other bike. The standard "fixed gear/singlespeed" chainring bolts work. I went with Sugino bolts. If you want to keep the same bolts the Omniums came with, you can also sand down the bolts so there's sufficient space for the bolts to clamp down on the chainring.

I heard that this bike is surprisingly heavy for the aluminum, brand, and Cervelo's description of "...over 500 grams lighter than most well-known carbon track frames..."
What's your comment on the matter?
Posted over 12 years ago
My comment? It wasn't surprising to me how heavy it was. It is a heavy frame because of the reinforced tubing used on the seat-tube and down-tube, plus all the other gussets and whatever. It's heavy, but it's super stiff and has a slight advantage over other frames that flex a lot during sprints. But it's more about the rider than the weight of a frame... I really don't care nor pay attention to the weight of my bikes.

I love the new photos! Excellent job! Quick question: what is the yellow thing hanging from your seat? A reflector?
Posted over 12 years ago
Thanks. Haha, it's a little trinket from Blue Lug, a mini reflector.
Posted over 12 years ago
this is a very nice bike. reminds me of the russian team bikes i saw recently on the track.

Beautiful bike! I'm a fan of your builds. I just got a T1 myself yesterday. It's currently the "daily".
I am currently living in Tokyo, did I see your mash on Craigslist??
Posted over 12 years ago
Thanks man! Can't wait to see your completed build. Your Gan Well Pro looks pretty sick.
Yeah, I posted the Mash on CL. Where in Tokyo do you live?
Posted over 12 years ago
Thanks dude! I live in Ota-ku. Ive been wanting to ride out to Yokohama one of these weekends with a homeboy of mine! I hear the bike scene is much better there than Tokyo. Also...We have a weekly fast ride out here from Tokyo tower to Tokyo sky tree and back every wednesday. U should come out sometime!
Posted over 12 years ago
Yeah the scene's huge in Yokohama. I haven't ridden much off base after the police started givings tickets for no brakes. It would be great to ride with you guys in Tokyo though. If you can, please send me a private message with more info on your Wednesday night rides. Thanks man!

Definitely a solid build, I would have gone for the 2012 deda pista stem with the red graphic and a black zen ring, but that’s just being picky. Hit me back with thoughts on my Seta.
Posted almost 13 years ago
Soooo dope.
How do you like it compared to the MASH?
Heard the frames are fairly heavy compared to other aluminum frames. True?
Posted almost 13 years ago
After riding this frame, I noticed the Mash flexes alot. The frame is heavier than most aluminum frames, but the extra weight is well worth how stiff this frame is. Mine comes out to about 20lbs and I didn't build it with weight in mind (big chainring/cog, 99 links, heavy pedals, heavy wheels, etc.).
Posted almost 13 years ago
Damn dude, you don't disappoint when it comes to building bikes.
If I may ask, where did you get TWO of the Zen rings with the Japanese calligraphy? Is it because you live in Japan?
I've been dying to have one for years!
Posted almost 13 years ago
Haha thanks. The Zen rings with the kanji are a newer version that replaced the existing graphics (other than that, it's still the same ring). It's been out for a while now, so just be sure to ask the company you're purchasing it from that you're not buying old stock.
Posted almost 13 years ago
Alright, thanks man. I'll do that for sure!
And how's riding with a few more gear inches treating you?
Posted almost 13 years ago
I rode with 53x19 for almost a year and loved spinning high cadences. However, after switching to 53x18 and 55x18, I don't know if I could ever go back to a lower gear inch again.. I'll probably work up to a 17T cog and become more efficient with that gearing.
Posted almost 13 years ago
You should jump to 90+ gear inches, dude. I don't think that you'll regret it.
Posted almost 13 years ago
whoa sick build man! that wheeldisc is just the bomb! but dont you get wobbly when the wind hits you ?
Posted about 13 years ago
Nah man, crosswinds are honestly nonexistent. I have a disc and I've never experienced crosswinds that affect my handling.
Posted almost 13 years ago
The disc is not an issue when you're up to speed. The front wheel is more of a concern when you're fighting side-wind since the frame is twitchy.
Posted almost 13 years ago
You never fail to bring the best Colin... Love the build! I hope it will see track...
Posted about 13 years ago
awesomely fantastic bike bro...
seriously no kidding...
i am speechless...
Posted about 13 years ago
Great build! Do you switch the disc between bikes or do you have 3 of them?
Posted about 13 years ago
I have one in Japan that I switch around on the T1 and Mash. I think it's going to remain on the T1 since the Mash is my beater.
Posted about 13 years ago
lol! the Mash is your beater? hahaha anyways, you've got some really nice bikes! :)
