Hi ! Very nice build ! May I ask you how tall are you ?
Posted almost 12 years ago
Thanks! Despite me not owning this bike anymore. But I'm 5'10"

Your build makes me want a mash! How is it?
Posted almost 13 years ago
it's a very nice frame for sure. very stiff, solid, and surprisingly comfortable. I feel like these frames don't get the credit they deserve. they really are great. the best aluminum frame i've ridden so far (as far as quality and stiffness). I love it!

also, the geometry is very aggressive. definitely gives you the "go fast" feel/quality. it's a lot of fun. very street friendly and I'm sure it's track friendly too.

I love this bike, the cranks, wheelset, pedals wow!!!! How are those tires holding up?
Posted almost 13 years ago
thanks! veloflex tires are very high quality, durable, and lightweight. but they are mainly designed for racing or for roadbikes. as far as riding fixed in the streets, to have it on the front is good, but I don't recommend them for the rear at all (atleast not where I live). if you live in a fairly flat area with nicer pavement and don't skid, then it'd be okay. they have that tubular-like quality if that helps.

Okay thanks! I might try them out or some other veloflex tire in the future. Jeez gumwalls look good on almost every bike.
Posted almost 13 years ago
no prob! the ones I have are veloflex pavé, which are vintage and no longer made. you can only find the current masters now. but I agree. gumwalls are timeless.
Posted almost 13 years ago
Oops, thought the paves were a current model. Masters it is!
Thanks agian

I think there are only the master and corsa models currently if I remember correctly. the masters are a slightly upgraded/modern version of the record/pavé. nice tires for sure. just keep in mind what I've said about the tires though. just one skid on these and it'll shave off a lot of its lifespan. no joke. I literally skidded once (for emergency of course) and it was a horrible feeling on the tire. a good amount of rubber was burnt off just from that. so yeah, just keep that in mind!

Hope you have a great lock, def. theft bait. one of the best I've seen though it appears to be a size or two small judging by the bars. But keeps it lighter(compact design lol) enjoy
Posted almost 13 years ago
I don't really lock my bikes often. but anything bigger would be too big since these frame's run big. I don't want the seatpost and stem slammed. this is what's comfortable for me. but thanks
Posted almost 13 years ago
Oh shit!! I saw this bike yesterday locked up near the Ferry Building in S.F.
Super clean! Looks way better in person!!
Posted almost 13 years ago
oohhh snap. yep, that was definitely mine. thanks for noticing!
Posted almost 13 years ago
really nice, although you probably should have taken larger size. A lot of seatpost showing and thats quite a long stem for a bullhorn.
Posted almost 13 years ago
there is a big difference in sizing between the 53 and 55cm. the 55 is too big for me. also, the stem is only 110mm. pretty standard.
Posted almost 13 years ago
well, 2cm difference in seat and toptube. 2 cents off stem and seatpost would make this a lot more balanced ride. Your weight is a tad bit too much over the front axle.
Posted almost 13 years ago
compare how far your bars reach over the front axle compared to this http://www.pedalroom.com/p/cinelli-mash...
Posted almost 13 years ago
I've been riding for a long time. I think I would know what fits me and what doesn't. this is what's comfortable for me, and that's all that should matter.
Posted almost 13 years ago
Well Actually negaatio! Ive seen this man actually ride his whip and i gotta say his position looks hella proper..positioning ur handlebars to axle bolt is a good start But!!! we live in SF and we climb mountains with our whip's!!.. so im sure he has configured his setup for extreme climbing ;)
Posted almost 13 years ago
exactly. this is what gets me in the position needed. are you going to question chris hoy or theo bos about their set ups? it's set up the way it is for a reason. why don't you two troll on someone who actually doesn't know anything about bikes.

By far the nicest Mash ever. You've got the greatest colorway and the nicest hubs ever made. Only thing I'd do different is go with a silver VO stem and a silver Nitto jag seatpost
Posted almost 13 years ago
thanks a lot. I really appreciate it. funny, I had a VO stem on my pista concept then changed my mind and sold it. I definitely wanted to incorporate as much silver and chrome as I could without overdoing it. all black components are way overplayed with these for sure.

Have you thought about white bar tape and a white saddle? I'm really curious to see how that would look
Posted almost 13 years ago
btw, I think you're the one I sold my Cinelli LA84 tt bars to awhile back? correct me if I'm wrong.
Posted almost 13 years ago
Were they cut down and de-anodized? And did you say they were on your Merckx? If so, then it was me!
Posted almost 13 years ago
actually, I have been thinking about it. I have a lot of love for the older tt bikes, like the cinelli laser. that's where I drew inspiration from for this build. I do have a white cinelli volare slx and white concor saddle. hmm....
Posted almost 13 years ago
What a coincidence! I've still got the LA84's on the Prologue! And do you ride your Sheriff Stars very often on the street? I just can't bring myself to take mine for a ride because of those pictures of them with cracked flanges
Posted almost 13 years ago
very very small world this is! that's cool that you put them to good use. I wish I could've kept them honestly. but I ride these wheels all the time and they've served me more than well. I was intimidated at first too, but they're not as fragile as you think. they're actually very strong. you're good if you have 32 or 36h, and if you're not a overly big in weight. also, radial lacing is a big no-no with these. I'm pretty light and am very easy on my bikes too.
Posted almost 13 years ago
I've got the 32's and I'm around 170lbs. It's just that they're almost brand new and I'd hate to crack one of the flanges. Eventually I'll take them out for a nice, long ride.
