Love the build! How do the carbon wheels compare to the alloy?

Hello Carabo! Congratulations for the bike, really nice! I bought the same frame in 51(M) in Red, and I have one question. Did you used the Columbus compass headset included in the frame or did you used another one?

Congrats on yours as well! I'm using the standard headset. Except for the headset cover. The Basso stem acts like a headset cover (it's designed as such)

Sorry to revive this ;) I have my frameset arriving tomorrow. How do you find the Basso stem? Did you do away completely with the headset top cap? Is the top bearing exposed? Thanks :)

Oh! And the weight??

Carabo says:

No complaints about the Basso stem, it's plenty stiff. The has been designed to function as a headset cover (i did need to fit a .5mm spacer so the stem clears the frame). Next time around I would run a spacer on top of the stem, keeping the steerer slightly longer that way. I have not weighed the bike yet :)

How does the outer cable sit in the frame for the rear mech? I can't see a visible cable stop there from photos.

I think the outer cable stops within the frame, after like 1cm. Can't recall precisely.

that looks not too bad. how do you like the frameset so far?

Carabo says:

Thanks. It's been excellent so far. Solid handling and the frame is pretty stiff. It doesn't feel uncomfortable in the saddle, with the 27.2 seatpost doing it's work.
