Recently picked this up off a friend who was willing enough to let it go! This build has taken a little over 4-5months to piece together. I decided not to stick to one genre of components, I have selected the best of the best components (IMO) to suit the Colnago. A lot of time and effort has gone into this bike, I've covered ever single little detail of this bike. Enjoy!

Beast!
Quick question why your zipp has 32 hole ,zipp 404 only had a 20 hole right?
Posted almost 12 years ago
My zipp wheelset is a custom built set for track. They're a genuine 2008 zipp 404 track wheelset. Drilled for 32h.. Rather more spokes than less, more means stiffer and no flex web spriting vs less which has more flex but much lighter and aero dynamic.

Nice info very interested, where you got it? If you ever let it go please pm me :)

Haha, yeah I'll never sell them. I got them through a friend who's friend was a pro track cyclist. Good luck finding a suitable set! Have a a look at BLB carbon wheels.

Hahaha you're very lucky to have Both of them , its really hard to find zipp for track here in indonesia, most of them built for road like mine

One more question, you built it for track or tarck. If you built it for tarck how the zipp treat you? Is it aave for skid?

This bike is purely for track racing, not safe to ride on the road/street as they're tubular tyres.

this would lok tight on those shamals too but i bet you switch wheelsets around from time to time. i know i do.
Posted about 12 years ago
actually the shamals looked shiit on the nago to be honest. Just the whole polished thing just clashed. Boxed wheelset didn't look flash either, didn't give it that "wow" factor..

still cant get over the fact that this bike is fucking beautiful
Posted about 12 years ago

Posted about 12 years ago
yeah! you can never go wrong with full da build! did the same thing with my bike lol. added to favorite!
Posted about 12 years ago
haha definitely agree with you, can't go wrong with full DA!
Posted about 12 years ago
umm track use i guess? would be to valuable to use as a daily ride i think lol

Those DA really made the bike! Love the frames.
Posted over 12 years ago
thanks man! glad to see that some people like the DA on the colnago. A bit of "hate" on the shimanon/DA on the bike.

But this is always better if you can find Shamals wheelset :D Btw, check out my bike!

it's been a long time coming. still in progress. just can't seem to find the right parts for this. Want to make this an ultimate build for me.

Nice! Where'd you find the Zipps? Also, you should put some 3T on that beast! And bring the Campy cranks from your Cinelli over, too.
Posted over 12 years ago
Found the zipp's online. Nah, Decided to go with dura ace this round.
