Love this Houston! Sweet color too- its really striking. How's this compare to the dodici? And any other track bikes you have? I'm curious to know how these ride since their wheelbase look long but its got a steep hta.

It's more comfortable on the street than my old special. The special had a sloping top tube(pursuit inspired) As for performance the long wheel base isnt an issue. No real toe overlap. rides stiff as hell with the Reynolds. I hit a bump the other day and the front wheel came off the ground. power transfer is good. Feels stiff over all compared to the dodici.

Sweet. So, would you say the dodici special is more twitchy? Im a bit confused when you said the Houston is more comfortable than the special on the street but stiffer than the special. also, what do you mean by no "real" toe overlap? Did the dodoci have toe overlap?
And just wondering, how do those Reynolds hold up to street riding and skidding? I've always read they're(Any carbon wheelset) risky and might shatter, but I see a lot of people on here do it.

All these idiots you see riding around skidding in carbon wheels are (excuse my language) fucking idiots. I have a set of the exact Reynolds myself and I made the mistake of training with them on the road which was just dumb. What you need to be riding is a road wheel setup fpr the road.
I built up a custom wheelset for that reason and don't ever skid on those! My Reynolds are for velodrome use ONLY, but maybe, in some exceptions for century rides.

Lol I don't skid on these. we have a closed section at are park that's for cyclist only. Crits are held there. only place I road train on. I agree though. Velo use only. Bike never really is on the streets.

i am skidding on carbon rims, and they are fine. Only fucking idiots I can think of are people who cant get over the fact others are using their gear as they want to.

yeah, i know. that is what i meant. how much did you get it and how was the waiting time????

i would love these frames if they had tighter clearances and no integrated seatposts.
Posted over 12 years ago
Rear wheel is slammed, 1/4" gap between tire and seat tube. You want a closer gap between the frame and front wheel??
Posted over 12 years ago
yeah i just can't stand straight forks. i'm sorry, i'm a big fan of tight geometry :)

5' 10". I should have gone with the 52cm. Frames run slightly big.
