What year is the bike from? I have one like yours, but I've been unable to figure out it's age...

Hi Karl,
The bike dates from around 2001. I bought it direct from belgium as I worked at a bike shop in Croydon, UK that imported Merckx road bikes. The colours are team Domo Farm-Frites pro road team. Track bikes were made to order so you could pick any size colour. This was the best track (endurance) bike at the time. All the pros road them at the six days. It's super responsive with short wheelbase and very steep head tube for short worded tracks.

Yeah it makes sense, thanks for the reply! Can you tell if mine's like yours? I originally thought it was an 03' - but the ones from that year came with carbon forks... Do you know when they began making them? The geometry, forks, tubes and everything adds up - except, of course, the paint scheme...
Thanks!

Like I said as far as I know all track bikes were built to order. I requested the steel fork instead of carbon or Ali, but I'm pretty sure you had the option. I have a brochure somewhere.l and I'm sure it has your colours in it. I will have a look.

Thank you so much for your help! I bought the frame only a year ago - but I'm very satisfied with the former owner also choosing the MX leader fork! Fantastic with the brochure - I'll keep it around. It's a fun "back story"!

I have the Team SC, sort of the road version of this bike and the older version of your Shamal wheels. I'm thinking about some Shamal 12-HPWs for the Merckx, and your bike really helps me visualize that. Very pretty!

Shamals look sweet on anything, road ones not too pricy either. Good luck.
