I'd consider. I have its original fork but that alone weighs 10lbs. otherwise the frames pretty nice

Haha I hear that. That and they where way wobbley on the secondary pivot bolt. The bike is now somewhat finished. Photos coming soon

looks nice, but i would get stronger brakes - the 600´s are not doing the best job.

for a first geared bike, it's a solid build..
how do you like SRAM's double-taps shifting mech?
i've been asking people the same question to get rid of the doubts on upgrading mine

I went from flite decks to this and in the drops I couldn't shift the way I needed to. The double tap hits it rite on the money. Now the first gen chainring has been the only thing that's pissed me off. Chain slipped off a few times for some reason and now I have a wonderful bruise on my thigh where it hit the bars. I have force rings in the mail.

i hardly shift on the drops.. but my friend's experience from using Red said that you can adjust them as close as you need to the drops..
300 for red groups means 300 USD right?
if yes, that's a steal! i wouldn't hesitate to upgrade if i could find one close to that price.. the price isn't that good here in Indonesia
that's why i have doubts on upgrading.. does it worth the cash...
I actually have similar experience on chain slipping on my Alphalab bike.. turned out that my LBS mechanic didn't tightly secure the cranks to the bottom bracket and the FD was also mistuned.. have you tried tuning yours?

Ya US, they are awesome in the drop cause they have this lever pivot that's pretty nifty. Also ya everything is tention checked before each ride. Also as a side note I've read story's about the front derailleur being crap and I must say I've yet to have an issue with my front derailleur

you may experience slightly better front shifting with a sram force front derailliur. or even a shimano one. the first gen red FD is notorious for sucking.
