You are the reason i fell in love with the Bolt four years ago - when i was 15 and didn't know how to fix a flat tire! Now i bought a frameset myself and i'm definitely stealing your gumwall idea! Fantastic job man!
Posted over 9 years ago
I know you don't own this bike anymore but considering that I'm 5'8, should I get this frame in 55cm or 53 cm? I'm currently riding a 56cm Fuji Track Pro fine.

This thing is seriously stunning. Would you recommend a 3t stem? I plan on getting the ARX pro.

The wheel/tire combination looks awesome! Another example of the harmony between Bolts and Open Pros.

Read you are getting rid of this one for a Stanridge HSP?

Haha nah, he's just a good friend. Tags me once in a great. I've thought about it but, I'm looking at a Cervelo next.

When you were talking about rubber compound to stop the rattling? What did you mean exactly? and how did you do it?
Posted almost 12 years ago
Silicone, put a little bit on the lever and put it in open position over night and let it dry. It's not permanent but it stops the rattle. easy to remove if necessary.
Posted almost 12 years ago
Sounds easy enough, I was thinking more of like filling it up till it can't move anymore! LOL justkidding. Thanks for the help

Love your cinelli ;) nice build!! how much do your bike weight? is sz55 fit just right for you? whats your height if i may know..
Posted about 12 years ago
Thank you! It weighs in at about 16.5lbs. It got heavier with the brake setup. But definitely worth it. Personally, I prefer smaller, more compact frames. I'm 6' 2", and the 55 fits me perfectly. I should be on a 56-58. But it's ok. :]
Posted about 12 years ago
What size you prefer me to take with a medium height of the seatpost. I am 172cm and I would like to know did it hurt your back when bending down to those frame as it is a pursuit frame :)
Posted about 12 years ago
I love the look of the dark open pros. This is a great build. So different but so classy.
Posted about 12 years ago
so good! the brakes look awesome, and makes riding long distances so much nicer
Posted about 12 years ago
Definitely does. Couldn't stop smiling after the first few pedal strokes.
Posted about 12 years ago
Your put hoods! Nice man! What did you do to the other lever to keep it from rattling?
Posted about 12 years ago
Thanks! I put a rubber compound that holds it together pretty well.
Posted about 12 years ago
Very nice build bro. This has convinced me to try and trade my Kagero for a Bolt lol.
Posted about 12 years ago
this build is why i loved the 2012 mash bolt! still waiting to get my own ;)

Hey there,
im planning on getting the same tires, the veloflex master 22 for my ride, how do you like them? How is the puncture protection? Let me know! Thanks!
Posted over 12 years ago
hi what bartape do you use? they're pretty!
Posted over 12 years ago
On the 3T Ergonova's, I have carbon pattern bartape. On the Pista's it's Fizik Suede.
Posted over 12 years ago
that gumwall tire that makes us say "classic" and the rest of the bike makes us say "modern", am I wrong? haha just guessing. wow, nice pedal you've got there, I want one please hehe, how the pedal feels?
Posted over 12 years ago
I like the new set up! How are the 3T ergonova's btw? I was thinking about getting those or the FSA compact wing pros or something.
Posted over 12 years ago
Honestly, they are uncomfortable for me. They hurt my palms. Perhaps because I haven't put any brake hoods on them yet. The Deda's were a lot better, believe it or not. Even on Century rides haha. So I dunno, I might go back. I'll see! Thanks a lot though.
Posted over 12 years ago
really? that's really suprising haha but I feel you on the deda's. I really like them too. but no problem man. I picked up a mash bolt recently too. I'll be posting it up very soon!
Posted over 12 years ago
Sexy bike. Quick question how are those look pedals thinking about getting some. I just dont know where i can fin them=(
Posted over 12 years ago
First of all you did an amazing job on your bike, hands down best Bolt i've seen to date.
I am looking to purchase a Cinelli track frame (either bolt or histogram) but i can't really tell which size i'll need.
I'm 6'2"/188cm just like you, but the frame 55cm looks really small compared to my current 58cm steel bike. I have a 32" inseam and really long arms. how does the bike fit you?
Thanks!
Posted over 12 years ago
Honestly, the bike fits me perfectly. I have longer arms as well. And notice my seatpost isn't even that high (which probably has to do with the negative slope). Anyway, I love it. A friend of mine, he's 6'1", had a 57cm steel and got the histogram in a 55cm. He said he feels weird riding his steel frame after how much better and compact the mash is. I'd say do it!
Posted over 12 years ago
It was a Pista Concept, and honestly it felt pretty similar to this frame, size wise.
Posted over 12 years ago
That good to hear. What size shoes do you wear if you don't mind? Have you ever used cages/straps?
Posted over 12 years ago
I wear 11 (46), not on this bike I haven't, always rode it clipless.
Posted over 12 years ago
What length are the arms on your Ominum crank? Any toe overlap? I bought the 55cm Bolt and am about to grab the same crank. Thanks!
Posted over 12 years ago
A 55cm might be too big for me but what is the stand over height on the 55cm? Im thinking of getting 53 or 50 (im 5'8)
Posted almost 13 years ago
curious, whick keo cleats do you use? red or grey? trying to figure out which to use regarding float.
Posted almost 13 years ago
Actually I use the black ones, zero degree. But if you're debating between red or grey, go grey. If you're riding fixed and brakeless. I've rode the red ones and they are sketchy as fuck haha.
Posted almost 13 years ago
oh wow, zero degree? no problem with clipping out while pulling up?
Posted almost 13 years ago
The only times I've even come close to that is when the cleats are worn down. Other than that, no. I don't do those fancy "whip skids" so I avoid any chances of clipping out.
Posted almost 13 years ago
dude... i love your builds. i think you ride with one of my friends. I would really love to finally see your bike in person
Posted almost 13 years ago
Gianni Correa. i started the warren cycling club and im on Giannis' team. im so down to ride at any time.
Posted almost 13 years ago
Ohh awesome. Yeah he asked me to design the t-shirts for you guys, I was gonna hop on it this week. Been busy. You guys still want a design or already found one?
Posted almost 13 years ago
we are about to order shirts but it has no design. we still need one
Posted almost 13 years ago
what you've done with your concept & this mash are both pretty much identical to what I had planned. you have good taste my friend. keep making them aluminum builds classy!
Posted almost 13 years ago
amazing bike!
do you know what size omnium you on this bike?
is it the 165mm or the 170mm?
Posted almost 13 years ago
cool good to know
i bought the wrong size then D:
...or do you know if the 165mm will fit?
Posted almost 13 years ago
this bike is gonna look AMAZING with Campy Records on it!!! post a pic ASAP when you install them :)
Posted almost 13 years ago
The length of the crank arms is irrelevant, if anything 165's could be better, as you'd have more cornering room.
And thanks! I will definitely. Got a Gold Medal cog and Izumi V chain waiting for the campy cranks. :]
Posted almost 13 years ago
I love your bike.
Posted almost 13 years ago
thanks man! actually just traded for a bolt, so i guess we're bolt brothers now ahha. im down to ride! your not too far downey?
Posted almost 13 years ago
Looks clean. Somewhat similar idea to the build I put together just a few weeks ago.

Nice man! How's the saddle workin' out for you? Quite unforgiving on my end so far. It's only been 2 days though so.. We'll see.
Posted almost 13 years ago
Yea, it took me a bit to get used to the smaller saddle compared to my old one. Once it brakes you in, it'll be an after thought.
Posted almost 13 years ago
love this MASH very much. modern + classic, brilliant idea! 4 thumbs up
Posted almost 13 years ago
Loving the wheels. I just got a new front wheel, so they are both low profile. Fat frames, skinny wheels!
Posted almost 13 years ago
Great build! I love modern frames with vintage wheelsets and gumwall tires!
