Getting closer to being finished! I contacted GT about my serial number and they said they don't have serial number info. So, I'll most likely never know the year my GTB was made unless I can find someone who can read GT serial numbers. Oh well...

Man, your mix of components amaze me! Very unique taste I'm in love with just about every bike you own

This was my first track bike actually, definitely a keeper!
Posted over 9 years ago
i definitely like that. so you put the left one on the right foot and the right one on the left foot?
Posted about 10 years ago
how do you like your time atacs? just ordered some vintage ones.
Posted about 10 years ago
I hella dig em! you can flip the left and right cleats to get a higher release angle.

All your builds are on point !
What do you like better the Dura Ace 7710 or the Campagnolo Pistas ?
Posted almost 12 years ago
Thanks! I love your new D2! I like the look of the C-Records more but the 7710's are stiffer and lighter. Both are top-notch cranks though.

Are those Lee Chi levers dependable? Got some for free from the LBS here. Tank yu, tank yu.
Posted almost 12 years ago
yeah they're pretty nice. the right side dummy lever rattles a bit though (but that's just the nature of a dummy lever). But yeah I have no real complaints with them.

Go i gotta axe! How much did you get that wheelset for and how does it ride?
btw awesome awesome build, i love your handlebar setup with them brakehoods looks extra comfy.
Posted over 12 years ago
Thanks! I got the hubs at a swap meet for $170 (they were new in box) and the rims were around $200 (I had to buy them straight from the manufacturer, so shipping was quite expensive) and spokes and nipples were $70. I built the wheelset myself, so I didn't have to pay for labor. Besides my Sheriff Stars, these are best riding wheels I've ever ridden. I love everything about them.

Nice!pretty much a brand new setup, that's awesome! Just curious how did you learn to wheel build? Save alot of money doing things yourrself. If you were to sell the wheelset how much do you think you'd axe? thanks for the info!

http://sheldonbrown.com/wheelbuild.html I followed that, and then went to my mechanic whenever I got stuck (I built it at my LBS). I'm not sure how much I'd ask... If they were new I'd probably ask around the 500-600 mark.

Sheldon Brown is the man! Haha, well thank you very much for the input. Great Build, cheers!

awesome bike.

Thanks man, I have to upload new photos of it. A lot has changed, DA 7600 hubs, DA 7710 cranks, the list goes on.
Posted over 12 years ago
for drivetrain, yeah. I've got a Cinelli bar/stem combo and the AC post on it.
Posted over 12 years ago
Mustache bars look awesome on this! Nice one...
Posted over 12 years ago
How do they ride? Currently on B125's but thinking about a change...
Posted over 12 years ago
I love them so much! I'm a big guy so they're the perfect width for me. They're a little bit flexy, but it's really not that bad. So, overall, they're really great bars.

Love it! Digging the Shamal, and pretty much everything else!
Posted almost 13 years ago
I love Shamals, the front one doesn't get too much use on this bike though, because of how thin the Tufo Tubular tire is (19c!). And it pops really easily, I once hit a driveway lip and popped it. Luckily my LBS had Tufo tire sealant, so the tire still works well! Also, they can go up to 220psi!! And I really, really can't wait to see how your Pista Concept will turn out, it will definitely be one of the best out there!
Posted almost 13 years ago
I'm thinking of getting something like a Shamal or some other sort of deep aluminum or carbon wheel for the front to put for show every once in a while. And much appreciated! The headset and stem should be arriving on Thrusday! All I will need to do after that is upgrade the crankset (found a killer deal on 75s with zen ring) and it will be done.
Posted almost 13 years ago
Shamals are great. You're in the SF bay right? There's a clincher set for 600 OBO and a tubular for 500, check those out. :) And great choice going with the 75's, I love mine.
Posted almost 13 years ago
Maybe once I get more money I'll buy a Shamal or something else for the front but for now I just need to guy buy those 75s haha.

Awesome bike Goose! My dream track bike right there.
Posted almost 13 years ago
Thank you very much! I picked up some really cool Profile Aerobars, and after I get my shim (arrives the 9th or so) I'll mount and post 'em

I wish my GT wasnt so beat up!
Posted about 13 years ago
you could always respray it black! or maybe a different color, like red or something :D
Posted about 13 years ago
I mean I like it beat but then again I like that glossiness of new bike haha
Posted about 13 years ago
either one is nice, as soon as my paint gets chipped more (there are like 2 or 3 little chips/scratches now) I'll paint it blue with white or black decals. Specifically, grabber blue http://mustang1.net/data/media/30/2010_...

Posted about 13 years ago
hahaha :P sorry, but these are staying with me for a loooong time. I picked them up (I have the rear one too) while I was on vacation for 200 bucks! that included the Tufo tires ($125 each) too! Thanks for the comment :D
