just wondering, what those brake levers are for? you don't even have a caliper
Posted over 12 years ago
Just for an additional hand position. I like the bullhorn hand position, but also wanted to have drops, so it made sense to just get hoods. I plan on getting the fork drilled for a front brake eventually though, at which point I'll hook the levers up to it.

Hey, just curious. On the bike forums thread Ride Pics,he picture you posted at the beach, what handlebars and brakes are you using?
Posted over 12 years ago
Ah, didn't realize I haven't updated this yet! They're 3T Ergonova Pro bars, Tektro RL340 levers, and Deda Mistral bar tape.

Dang man, been a while since I peeked at ur P.R. or B.F. and I'm impressed with the Kagy... looks like an absolute blast.

Thanks man, I really enjoy riding it. I just bought some road drops/hoods and a different saddle for it; I think this slippery slope of buying bike parts might be over for now haha. Nothing to be jelly of though, you have one of the nicest 722's around! How's that Charge Scissor treating you?

Thanks. Much appreciated. What exactly did you splurge on, or should I just wait for the surprise? The Charge is a ton of fun, combining my bmx passion with fixed gear riding has been a rewarding challenge.

I just kind of bought the last bit of things that there was for me to buy. Picked up some Ergonova bars, Tektro RL340 hoods, and some Deda faux leather tape, and then a Specialized Romin saddle(which I'm not sure on yet, may return it for a Romin Evo Expert). I'm at a point now where I just need to ride the damn thing because I paid off and closed my credit card, and there really isn't anything else for me to buy for it haha.

the frame it is not tight for you?
but overall is nice setup for kagero
Posted over 12 years ago
I'm not sure what that question means, but if you're asking if I'm cramped, the answer was a little bit. I bought a 100mm FSA stem and feel quite a bit more comfy on it now. Thanks.

have always loved the kagero. if only i have the money.
shopping at retrogression ftw!

It's a great frame set, I'm seriously happy with the ride and performance. My only complain is toe overlap, but it's not the end of the world.
RG rocks, I purchased a large majority of the parts for this bike from Retrogression, including the frame set itself.

Great bike!

I read it on this cool forum and I just want to be cool like them. Haha.

this is beautiful, those rims are so beautiful!
Posted almost 13 years ago
Thanks man. I had them built by Scrod at Retro-gression.com. Couldn't be happier with them.

im thinking about getting the rim built up on the rear!! are they strong at all?
Posted almost 13 years ago
Well, I ride on crappy roads, and weigh north of 240lbs. I get it trued every couple of months but it's never super messed up, just generally a little out of true. I think the strength is definitely sufficient for most riders.

Did you run out of money after buying the frame?
Posted almost 13 years ago
...No, most of the parts were swapped from the 722 I had prior to this. The only things I bought new were the BB and the seat post. Why do you ask?
Posted almost 13 years ago
Because its such an amazing frame and the parts just don't do it justice, but I understand swapping gear. Its a great looking bike btw, how does it ride? Is it comfortable like that with risers, because it looks great with risers.
Posted almost 13 years ago
I'm pretty happy with all of the parts. I need to get a longer stem, hoping for a Thomson. I may upgrade to Omniums in the future but the S300 is a very nice crankset for the money; I have no qualms with it. It rides real nice; the A23 rims(23mm wide) go really with with the 25C tires, spreading them out and giving an excellent ride. The risers are very comfortable; I have some bullhorns that I'll swap on for longer rides, but the risers are great for my short rides now until the weather warms up. Thanks.

nice build! I wish the sloping top tube showed more on the small size though :/ haha
Posted almost 13 years ago
Thanks! I'm really happy with how comfortable the geo is; I'm not sure I'd want the top tube any more sloped!
