i think itd look a tad better with an x2. just my 2 cents. still like the x4 tho!

It's an old style Elite, not oversize X4. No bulge in the bars and a lighter looking stem gives it a bit of a classic look, compliments the box section rims I think. A nice juxtaposition to the modern aluminium frame. Might change it later on but for now I'm really feeling it.

yeah now that i look at it, it does go well with the box rims. did they change the size of the x4

I'm not 100% on the history but pretty sure as 31.8mm became the standard they introduced the X4 to replace the original Elite stems which came in 25.4mm and 26.0mm, no longer in production. The X2 came later as a road specific option, weight reduction being the main focus for the new 2 bolt clamp system.
