Yes it is. No doubts. Masi USA was supplier for USSR team in the end of 80s. You can see a photo with Ekimov on Masi bike here http://s019.radikal.ru/i623/1608/c3/349...

given the cold war, i found it surprising that the russians would use, out of all the available brands, an american one (coincidentally one of the lesser known)... it wouldn't be the first time the russians trolled the usa, though ;-) thanks for the answer

it was cold war in politics but no war in economics. after the 70s more than 50 agreements were signed between USA and USSR. In different spheres, including culture, sport and economics. And the trade turnover was more than even now. So nothing special with True temper, mate)
