sweet! if you looking for a cheap clipless mtb pedals & the shoes maybe shimano has an option. PD-m520 + SH M087 would be nice! and if you're looking for a high-end shoes i recomend Mavic Razor!

What lacing pattern is that on the front wheel?
Posted about 12 years ago
idk. I actually want some 2x cross pattern. But my lbs said they had a problem to find the spoke length. So they end up laced the spoke with the weird pattern.

Nice bike. The color set up is very nice. I like your fork and the sticker bombing~ very tasteful. Thank you for the comments on my bike too. Happy riding!

Love the barset! Looks good on your bike :D
Posted about 12 years ago
I love these bars. Since I picked mine up, I've tried several others, and the 7s is still my favorite! Nice build BTW!

Nice! How are you liking the Omnium's? I was thinking of getting a set.
Posted over 12 years ago
You need to get one for your Pake! It's spin smooth and light tho. Love it!

how are those rims? i considered getting those for my rear whell but went with the velocity aero.
Posted over 12 years ago
It's light, stiff and quite strong tho. Really happy with those rims perfomance by far.

dude how do u stop? that toe strap is out of place it should go in the other hole at the pedals..
Posted over 12 years ago
You meant skid stop? I've no problem skid with that toeclips. Btw I've put that strap through the other hole.
Posted over 12 years ago
Looks good. Are you riding on the street? If so, watch that gear ratio! You only have a couple skid patches that way. Also, keep in mind that lower gear ratios are easier on your knees, good for teaching you how to spin, and easier to slow down :)

maybe replace the fork with the new one will make this bike more nice.. just IMO
Posted over 12 years ago
Hmm will not change the fork on this Pake. I think it look nice with that fork. I'm getting a new frame maybe.

nice build! you got yourself a very proper parts for your first build... maybe new barset and saddle will really finish this off.. and one more thing, maybe its just the angle of the picture but... i think the saddle is kinda tilted upward?
Posted over 12 years ago
oh right just saw your description.. combination of Shimano Pro Vibe/3T ARX Pro/Thomson X2 with Shimano Pro PLT Ergo drops/3T Ergonova would be nice :)
Posted over 12 years ago
It does look tilted up a little bit on the first picture but the bike is actually was angled up. For the bars I'll choose either Vibe 7s or PLT bars. With Thomson X2 stem. Now, I need some saddle suggestion.

Nice bike, i think the omnium+straight fork look has something. would change the saddle and the bar tho

Need to wait for my next setup. Will change most of the components ;D
Posted over 12 years ago
Very Clean!
Posted over 12 years ago
:D thanks man! You'll need to wait for my second setup. It'll look cleaner ahaha
Posted over 12 years ago
Looks very good! Especially that wheelset!
Posted over 12 years ago
you might want to loop the straps through the second hole though, so it covers more of your foot.
Posted over 12 years ago
Can the strap put through the second hole? Because it's single cage. Btw, I'll upgrade to road clipless anytime soon. This December maybe.
Posted over 12 years ago
I've done it with a set of MKS steel cages and single straps, so it should work with yours.

This is a solid pake.. I dig it xD

Really love it! Super smooth with Gran Compe hubs and those Archetype are very light! Good looking rims tho.
Posted over 12 years ago
nice bike man. loving the archetypes!
Posted over 12 years ago
hey man, if you're looking for some good bars and stems for street then try looking at fsa compact wing handlebars! Very comfy and top quality at a good price. Might get a pair myself! As for stems you can't go wrong with thomson, may be a bit pricey but makes all the difference.

Hahaha it's Ok for my first fixed gear. Maybe some NJS or LOW// frame next. Need to wait...
Posted over 12 years ago
how are those archetypes?
Posted over 12 years ago
Have'nt ride with it because my bike still not completed. But it's quite light. Will tell you more after I took a ride with this rims!
Posted over 12 years ago
No for my leader 722ts.
I just got a new frame is an 2010 I believe. Sold a road bike I wasn't using.
Posted over 12 years ago
Haha good choice.
They are wonderful, stiff, can take a ton of torque n spin for ever.
I've put them on all my track bikes. This new build I'm trying will be the first time trying something else. Have much fun with your Omniums
Posted over 12 years ago
What type of budget are you on?
Posted over 12 years ago
Total budget to build this is around $400. Will saving some money to buy some better parts for this bike. Any suggestion on crankset, seatpost and saddle?
Posted over 12 years ago
So are you slowly building this or are you trying to build it up fast to ride it and get parts as you go along?
Posted over 12 years ago
I'm slowly building this to buy some good parts! Is Sram Omnium suitable for me?
Posted over 12 years ago
I have found sram Omniums to be quite reliable... over the years on modern bikes they have become my crankset/BB of choice.
not to say sugino and miche & etc are good or reliable.. but if you have a set limit on price then ebay Omniums, the second set I got for just below 200 bucks. plus the omnium cranks allow for a wide veriety of chainrings.. such as sugino zen or the like(larger # of teeth options) if you'd prefer that then the omnium chainring which generally comes with 48t/49t, I've seen some with 46t but that's rare.
Posted over 12 years ago
if you're on a budget, there's miche's..
Posted over 12 years ago
buy a good bb and some good looking cranks. my suggestion will be an used NJS BB and a primato crank. and you're all set!
