This was built by Paupitz, Berlins last "old" top class framebuilder, who sadly retired because of age some years ago. It was made for Rainer Podlesch, to compete in the Olympic team Sprint of 1968. Podlesch fell off injured after the first run. Still, the West-german team managed to win a silver medal that year. The medal was only given to them one year later, as one (east german) referee had stated them to have cheated. Rear triangle has been made from tandem tubing for increased stiffness and I can sure feel that! Ridden as my track training bike..
