so is there a sifter necessary for the s3x? how do you like it? ive heard there is a significant amount of play similar to slipping cogs when shifting.

Yep, it is definately one for the romantics B-). Although the shifter is indexed it is a bit like finding a gear in an old car. The lag on the hub is much like a chain with some play in it. Although noticeable not really an issue. The fun tho, Oh the fun! compensates for agricultural tech. I would never run it brklss liek. B-)

Thanks, yes 3 speed hub. GI range 60-90+. Brake has noodle so no foul. :o)
