Unique 3Rensho Track

This bicycle is believed to have been owned by Nelson Vails though i am still trying to have this verified. This frame was built with Modeulo lugs and custom bracing tubes to increase stiffness in the rear triangle and bottom bracket area. This was a very lucky CL find. It is very, very stiff and superfast. This bike is going to spend a lot of time on my wall and clock a few sunny sunday miles.

Frame:
1987 56cm 3Rensho custom Track

Fork/Headset:
3Rensho original / Chris King

Crankset/Bottom Bracket:
Dura Ace 7710 / Dura Ace 7710

Pedals:

Drivetrain/Cog/Chainring/Chain:

I sold it. :o bought a team rabobank colnago with the money. I've got the full 10 pitch group, I just need to lace up the wheels and then I'm going to throw it on the Stratos.

I have, but ive not gotten a response. the consensus seems to be that Koichi Yamaguchi had a hand in this as he was working for Mr. Konno at the time and it is certainly in his style. I was going to try to get a hold of Yamaguchi next. I also found some video of the 1987 track world championships at the 7-11 velodrome in Colorado Springs in which a Japanese racer was riding a frame with the same colorway, but its hard to tell whether or not it has those extra tubes. Id love to get some concrete history on the frame. Its currently being re-built with a Dura Ace 10-Pitch group - ill upload some pictures when its finished!
