1986 Team Great Britain custom track

Custom made frame for Paul Sydenham in 1986. Paul is a British national track champion who raced in the late 70s and early 80s. Though he was more successful in tandem events he also raced sprints on bikes build by his brother Richard who was an engineer. Paul’s group set of choice was the dura ace 10 pitch drivetrain which I chose not to acquire with the bike. My plans are to use a full Mavic drivetrain with a variety of other parts.

Frame:
Reynolds 531 main tubes, oversized top tube, Columbus Max chainstays, cinelli bottom bracket shell, carbon fiber molded gussets

Fork/Headset:
Cinelli aero fork crown with Reynolds 531 fork tubes with gipiemme dropouts/dura ace headset

Crankset/Bottom Bracket:
Mavic 631/shimano

Handlebars/Stem:
Nitto B123 NJS/Cinelli 2A

Saddle/Seatpost:
Viscount Seagull H2100/Campagnolo super record seatpost 26.8

Front Wheel/Hub/Tire:
Mavic cosmic pro

Rear Wheel/Hub/Tire:
Mavic cosmic pro/Mack track hub

Something about 80's aerodynamic frames that gets the heart pounding. Like a beautiful girl who doesn't know that she's beautiful.
