Damn that sucks, was once a beautiful frame but now trashed up, hopefully you’re rocking a new frame by now!

Damn!
What happened?
You must get Muirandessi to build another
Posted almost 6 years ago
This happened a while ago but I got into a confrontation with a motorist and it didn't end well.

Seeing the evolution of this bikes, and bikes in general, is pleasant.
Sick rig.

1' headtube right? is the Thomson 1"? adapter? doesn't look like adapter to me which is why i ask
Posted over 8 years ago
Yep, 1" steertube with a cheap steertube shim. That's why it looks somewhat normal through the window of the Thomson stem.

so beautiful

i just ordered the Crane E-NE bell. What so you think about it?
Posted about 9 years ago
It's great. Nice and loud, and super easy to set up. IMO, it's just as good, if not better than the spurcycle bell. Half the price, and much easier to go from 22.2 to 31.8.

Nice bike, btw how tall are u ?
Posted about 9 years ago
isn't too small size for you ? i'm abuot 5'6'' and still confused about fixed gear frame size
Posted about 9 years ago
No not really! I purposefully had this frame made a size smaller than what I'm suppose to be riding. To me, smaller frames feel more maneuverable and I enjoy the ride of a smaller frame.
So long as you have around 2.5 inches of space between the toptube and your crotch, the frame should fit fine. Double check those geo charts!

Why doesn't anyone make a tan wall tire that lasts long and is really durable. Like a gatorskin tread but tan walled.

Do you happen to know ho makes this fork crown?
Posted about 9 years ago
The fork crown used on this fork is the Silva "Track" Fork Crown.

I fucking love this bike
Posted about 9 years ago
such a clean build. How are you liking the Brooks Cambium? Thinking about getting one in the future
Posted about 9 years ago
I like it! I wanted a get-on and go saddle that was durable and low maintenance but also modern looking. I think this was the answer. The carve feels really nice, no numbness. I may have to cut down the front bolt on my seatpost because I can feel it sometimes when I go over rough surfaces.

Also, how do you like that ritchey saddle? Do you know how it compares to an SLR?

Sick stem. I have the Dura Ace version
Posted over 9 years ago
They're really neat stems. But a pain in the ass when it comes to risers lmao.
Posted over 9 years ago
You nailed that stem. I've had that stem for a while now and haven't anything to put it on.
Posted over 9 years ago
Thank you! Maybe some traditional bend bars? Flats and risers always a go to for me when it comes to quill stems. Very nice Kalavinka you have!

Everything about this bike is 100% beautiful. I knew those wheels would end up on something very classy when I built them!
Posted over 9 years ago
Thanks a lot Scrod! Hats off to you and your wheel building skills, these things are tough. Also thanks to the amazing Retrogression staff!
Posted over 9 years ago
Perfect build seriously. Gotta as how does that stem work? Haha I don't get how you tighten the handlebars
Posted over 9 years ago
Thank you! And there is a wedge on the inside of the neck of the stem that pushes on the handlebar.
Here is a very crude drawing I made in ms paint of what I mean lmao http://puu.sh/jpDHk/38637ebbff.jpg

Well that's pretty damn cool, thanks for explaining that... Might have to snag one of those for my new build

Damnnn, really deserves to be featured lol

Much appreciated man! Someday let's race. You on your Trek Race Bike, and me on my Magna..
Posted over 9 years ago
i don't often gush over fg builds these days but i do love your phil wood low flange hubs- tastefully built... beautiful bicycle!
Posted over 9 years ago
You should get gum wall tires. It would complete the bike.
Posted over 9 years ago
^ Agreed! One of the things I was considering getting after the initial stage.
Posted over 9 years ago
What's the clamp size on them bars? They look noice
Posted over 9 years ago
You can swoop them for $80 on this site. https://www.benscycle.com/p-1275-nitto-...
But these bars tend to be spendy. I got mine used from a fellow pedalroom member.

Who needs a Cannondale Track when you have this beauty! Never thought it would be steel, but I absolutely love it. The color is amazing, good job and enjoy your ride!
Posted over 9 years ago
Damn nice! What tubing is that?
Posted over 9 years ago
Thanks! It's a mix of columbus and nova. The toptube is actually a downtube.
Posted over 9 years ago
pardon me. i don't quite get it. what do you mean by "the toptube is actually a downtube."?
Posted over 9 years ago
The toptube that me and the frame builder chose is actually meant to be used as a downtube. But it can be used as a large style toptube, which is what I wanted on this bike.
Posted over 9 years ago
Do you happen to know the color name of the paint by chance? Red Starlight perhaps?
Posted over 9 years ago
Pretty sure that's what it is :P I dropped my frame set off for paint about a week ago, looks the exact same as this. I just couldn't get a great look at the color in the sun cause it was overcast that morning
Posted over 9 years ago
It might be called that, but I am not sure. I described the color to the person I was working with for the paint, and showed some examples and this is what he proposed to me. It was exactly what I wanted. Excited to see how your frame comes out!
