Super cool build! I'm trying to convert a 95 Bear Valley to 1x9, been struggling to find a NW chainring. How much of the crankset/BB did you replace?

Nice bike !
Any Travel agent between the v-brakes and the 5700 levers ? How’s the feel when braking ?
Posted almost 5 years ago
Nope, no travel agent. Rims have to be dead straight and pads pretty close to the rim but other than that I think the lever feel is good. Better than any mech disc brake I've tried that's for sure!

How are you running a 10 speed dyna sys mountain derailleur with a 10 speed road shifter?
Posted over 5 years ago
Have you modified the derailleur in any way?

I've only switched out the old B-screw for a new one because the threads were stripped on the old one.

Really awesome. I'm curious about the modification you made for increased tire clearance, how'd you go about that?

Cheers. I bought a 25mm long piece of 76mm ID steel pipe and mocked it up against the chainstays. Then I cut out a single piece from the chainstays and cs bridge. Took some more work to get the steel ring to fit but once I was happy with the fit I brazed it in there with brass. That's about it :)

Was this a 1 1/8" threaded fork to begin with? I thought all 95 Marins were. Did you switch the fork to a threadless or change the steerer ?
