Gitane Piste

Not 100% on the make of the frame but most likely a Gitane Mexico or early Kilo from 1979-80 made from Vitus tubing.

Frame:
Gitane(?), 54,5x55, Vitus tubing

Fork/Headset:
Gitane(?)/Gipiemme Sprint Strada

Crankset/Bottom Bracket:
Gipiemme Special Pista 165mm/Gipiemme Special Pista

Pedals:
Gipiemme Special Pista/MKS clips/MKS fit-α straps

Drivetrain/Cog/Chainring/Chain:
EAI 19t/Gipiemme Special Pista 50t/KMC/Gipiemme lockring

Handlebars/Stem:
Italmanubri Tourist/Italmanubri 100mm

Saddle/Seatpost:
San Marco Regal Girardi/Gipiemme fluted with homemade quill

Front Wheel/Hub/Tire:
Mavic Open 4 CD/Gipiemme low flange 28h/DT Revolution/Michelin Dynamic

Rear Wheel/Hub/Tire:
Mavic Open 4 CD/Gipiemme low flange 28h/DT Revolution/Panaracer Pasela

Accessories:
Brass bell by Crane

More Info:
Spiced it up with some yellow details. The seatpost had been slipping for 4 years and the clamp finally gave up so I had to modify the Gipiemme seatpost to work with a quill.

^ agreed. add to that a character enhancing level of wear & tear w/o taking away from the bike or it's daily functionality all adds up to great fun. the colors really make this stand out as well, from the gumwalls to the yellow bits, along w/ those cruiser bars & eyelet rims, this is a stellar bad boy build

Haven't measured... I've been meaning to pull out a halflink to tighten up the rear end after I removed the fenders but haven't gotten around to it yet. I'll get back to you on that one. It is tight, that's for sure.

Thanks! Definitely the most balanced geometry I've ever ridden even if the frame could be a couple of cm's taller.
