may i know the weight of this setting? thx
Posted over 11 years ago
With those extensions and the dual bottle cage and the thomson and shit like that, I never knew the weight but I'm guessing around 19 lbs.
Posted over 11 years ago
b43's better than ellipses?
Posted over 12 years ago
Hahaha, not by a chance! I just wanted to see what B43s were like and what Phil Woods were like.
Posted over 12 years ago
Meh, I don't feel any difference in barring quality and quite frankly, they're heavy as fuck hubs!
Posted over 12 years ago
32 hole hub 32 hole b43? 16 pattern or 36 18 pattern? intresting(:
Posted over 12 years ago
36 18 pattern? What does that mean? And yea, just 16 hole radial, laced every other hole.
Posted over 12 years ago
Hahaha, you're probably the only person who won't give me shit for it. Hahaha.
Posted over 12 years ago
Thats waht i was wondering like- are you using 36hole hub lacing 18 radial, Thats cool, As long as you avoid curbs (:
Posted over 12 years ago
Hahaa, I hop curbs all day on that wheel! And yea dude, it looks cool and functions regularly so I could really care less. Hahaha. I have more spokes so if one snaps, replace it! Probably even relace the wheel 32h instead of 16h. So... Yea! :]

Everyone, check out my new vid!

It's my IRO! I traded it complete to some guy for my China carbon and then bought back just the frame + headset for 150 from the same guy! Hahaha.
Posted over 12 years ago
i don't understand... 58 top tube and a 52 seat tube? they should both be 58 according to the planet x measuring chart. this is a size Large, i assume.
and what about those wheels? where do they come from?
Posted over 12 years ago
The website says the seat tube c-t is 58cm, not c-c. C-c, it's 52cm.
And I traded my Ellipses for them with a buddy of mine.
Posted over 12 years ago
i've got the option to buy a 58 or a 56... what size is your frame? and how tall are you? i keep hearing that the 58 is too big even for tall riders (i'm 6'1'')
thanks for any input you have time to give, brother.
Posted over 12 years ago
Hahaha, well, I of all people have a long upper body and short lower body. The top tube on this bike c - c is 58cm and the seattube c - c is 52cm (according to my measurements) so the frame fits me just perfectly.
The 58cm on the top makes my stretch over the bars very comfortable and the 52 seat makes my standover (approx.: 33.5") managable and comfortable.
So, since you're 6' 1", you're legs are definitely at least a little longer than mine, so it'll fit you in the standover sense for sure. It just comes down to how long you like your top tube.
Does you're current bike fit you well? If so, measure it's top tube and compare than to the 58cm top tube on the Planet X.

lookin sweet man! But why b43?
Posted over 12 years ago
Because of the Phil Woods. I wouldn't have done the trade if it wasn't for the Phil Woods. And plus, training on these heavy-ass wheels for a couple months will make me super fast when I get my carbon wheels.
Posted over 12 years ago
back to the Zen and an Arione! I miss you </3 haha
Posted over 12 years ago
Hahaha, seriously dude! We need to live closer together so that we can ride more! :[
Posted over 12 years ago
Is that a 32 hole phil? and how strong is it if you lace the front wheel like that?
Posted over 12 years ago
Hahaha, I'm assuming that it's not strong at all... I've already hoped a couple of curbs on it and put 50 miles down on them so far, so... I think that it'll be fine.
Posted over 12 years ago
Ooooo. ;)
Posted over 12 years ago
Hahaha, way better than the black spokes and black nipples laced 3 cross. Hahaha.
Posted over 12 years ago
Oh, cause I recognized the 722 to the Leader steel frame but I didn't know it was called the 722 heritage. And what Alvin?! :O
Posted over 12 years ago
There's 109 comments so I wont go through all of them looking for an answer. Do you track race? Can you feel a difference in the ride or stiffness of the frame?
Thanks, Isaac.
Posted over 12 years ago
No, but I am going to start my classes at the Home Depot center very soon. Have my license and now, a job; just need $250!
But I am not the person to talk to when it comes to the stiffness in frames. I've ridden steel, aluminum, and carbon and the only difference that I was able to tell between all of them is the geometry.
So, I have no idea. The frame rides super solid, super aggressive, and super smooth; that's all I can say.
Posted over 12 years ago
i just added this to my favourite
Posted over 12 years ago
Sweet! Thanks a bunch for that man! I'm glad that you like my bike. :] Hahaha.
Posted over 12 years ago
What place did you end up in wolfback hustle?
Posted over 12 years ago
Really? My friend ended up in 5th. I thought you were placed 1-20 lol.
Posted over 12 years ago
Nah dude! Those guys kicked my ass! I was in the chase group until the last 2 miles of the race and then they dropped me.
Posted over 12 years ago
Really nice bike, maybe i will get this frame for my next upgrade. What size are you using?
Posted almost 13 years ago
I'm using the 58 but it's too big. I'd rather ride the 56 but what can ya do?
And do it son! They're super uncommon frames and will get you a lot of attention. I actually just did the Wolfpack Hustle Marathon Crash race this morning and saw another Planet X there. Hahaha, it was odd seeing another one because you don't even see them too often on the internet!
So get one! They're on sale right now too! Frame + Fork is cheaper than Cinelli Mash!!

DUDE i saw your bike on craigslist... why you trying to sell :(
Posted almost 13 years ago
I'm not trying to sell it, I'm simply keeping it on the internet so that if someone comes with an offer that I can't refuse, then maybe I could get a great deal. So yea, I've gotten a bunch of part out offers and shit but I turn them all down.
Posted almost 13 years ago
I'm basically looking for an amazing trade. Like, maybe, someone will come up with a Cannondale Track or something, so what I'm getting at?
Posted almost 13 years ago

Posted almost 13 years ago

Rode 55 miles today, dude! It was gnarly.
Posted almost 13 years ago

Posted almost 13 years ago
Hahaha, well, it all comes down to the gradient my man. You got San Fran hills over in your area?
Posted almost 13 years ago
Well idk about that much of a incline but its just somewhat hard on the knees.
Posted almost 13 years ago
My buddy just got a planet x! I'm from Fullerton, we should ride sometime mang :)
Posted almost 13 years ago
Hahaha, dude, I'm pretty sure that I got it from your buddy! Ryan Krong? I hooked him up so fat! Hahaha.
Let's ride dude!
Posted almost 13 years ago
Hahaha, yea dude. I was like, dude, you haven't even built up! Give it to me! Hahaha. And we worked out a deal that I can't even believe that I made it was so not in favor for me. Hahaha.
Whatever though. It was worth it for a frame that is true track and actually fits me.
But yea dude, we should ride sometime for sure! I've seen your bike before. It's sick as fuck! But honestly, I'm not to fond of your saddle position. >.> Is it comfy like that?
Posted almost 13 years ago
Hey ryan! :P
And i actually fixed the saddle angle, all of my allen keys were stripped so i couldnt fix it for like a week x)
Posted almost 13 years ago
Dude I'm so jealous!!!!.... GLad my friend got what he deserves though ;] Can't wait to drop by and see it!
Posted almost 13 years ago
Hahaha, flattery! Can't handle! And yea dude, we gotta ride soon. And why the heck did you think that I hate you? Hahaha.
Posted almost 13 years ago
Hahaha No clue.. and Thanks for stealing my picture idea >:[ ..... hahahaha I claim the picture of your drivetrain you have on here. :)
Posted almost 13 years ago
Does it feel different or the same as the china frame?
Posted almost 13 years ago
A lot different. The X actually has track geometry and the China had road bike geometry so sprinting and riding in general is different feeling. I'm already used to it though.
And also, the actual correct frame size helps my back out a lot! Plus, I'll be getting aerobars soon so the frame size will work with that positively as well. It handles much better than the China in my opinion though.
Posted almost 13 years ago
Nice! I heard you live around the OC! I wanna ride with you!
Posted almost 13 years ago
looks awesome and this time it´s seems to be the right size for you!
Posted almost 13 years ago
