This track frame was built in 1980 by Christian Pyttel in the Textima research and development centre in Karl-Marx-Stadt, former GDR. It is a handmade frame used for point and/or time trial races. The distances during point races are significantly longer than for example during time trial races. This results in a matching frame geometry. Wheels in 27/27” are used and features like a tapered top tube are left out to get a more upright sitting position. Furthermore, the wheelbase is narrowed for more agility during overtaking manoeuvres and saving some weight. Lugs and gussets are also left out to reduce the weight even more.
