This bike was made by the FES institute in 1988. The FES institute (Institut für Forschung und Entwicklung von Sportgeräten, in english:Institute for research and development of sports equipment) was foundet in March 1963 and initially focused on the development of canoes, oars and sails. In 1979 they began their first work on the subject of cycling. In 1985 they developed the first carbon disc wheel and two years later the first carbon monocoque frame (FES B87) of the world. In 1988, the first series-produced bikes were created from the protoype B87. And that is exactly the kind of bike you see here: the FES B88
