Just sick builds in your profile!

I want to build up a pre cursa as my first fixie.
I am about 181cm tall.. do you think a 54 frame would fit for an aggressive position ?

Sorry for the inconvenient question.
I don´t trust the Dolan sizeguid

Smaller bikes are more nimble, stiff, lighter, and more aero! Plus it looks better. It also looks much much much better than any Cinelli.

Couldn't have said it better myself! I think, though, that the ideal/best looking size is probably 56/57 because of the proportions of the wheels compared to the frame, etc.

Just wondering why a 54 when you tend to ride a bit bigger? I'm stuck between a 54/56 and I'm just a hair shorter than you.

Karl says:

I'd definitely take the 56 - I only ride this because i got it cheap - it doesn't really fit. 56 is on the low side for me, but i like small handy bikes so i'd go with the 56, no doubt!

are you using this as a track bike or a commuter? hows the ride compared to something with a more relaxed geo i.e. wabi?

Posted almost 10 years ago

Karl

Karl says:

I'm using it on the street and for longer road-rides. It rides super responsive and the geo is imo. very aggressive making "commuting" an unpleasant but fun experience.

Gotcha. What made you decide to get a 54 rather than a 56? I'm a tad shorter than you(w/ about 30cm standover) and cant decide which size to get

Sorry i don't know why i haven't seen your question - actually i like the smaller frames when riding inside the city - it feels more agile and alive... But in general i try to find something more 56-ish... This was originally bought for my father so that's why it's a tad smaller than my other bikes :)
