Gazelle champion mondial track in the team colours of Cabellero . In the sixties there was no less than three professional teams in the Netherlands. The formations of Televizier and Willem II-Gazelle had a clear commercial aim, but Caballero's reasons were initially less bright. I unfortunately don't quite learned exactly how it was, because the three main characters who it's all about are no longer life. At the end of the fifties that was ... ... Mr Nico Klijn, Director of cigarette factory Ed Laurens, manufacturer of the brand Caballero; Frans van den Enden, jury member at the KNWU ( the national Dutch cycling federation ) And Gerard Peters, former professional road bicycle racer and owner of a beach pavilion in Bloemendaal the Netherlands. Those three have stood at the cradle of the "Caballero-team", which has existed for nearly 20 years. Originally it was an amateur team, but when some of those amateurs could obtain no contract and wanted to be a professional at a real pro formation, they continued as ' not bound rider ' riding in the trusted Caballero-shirt. Only at the end of the 1960s, there was also a real pro in addition to the amateur formation team, which in 1970 under the name Laurens-Caballero has participated in the Tour de France. 57CC 58 CT 56,5 TT
