1992 Eddy Merckx Winora track #8.(sold)

Eddy Merckx trackframe used by team Winora from Germany. The cyclist Engelbert Wiener founded E. Wiener GmbH in 1914 in Schweinfurt, where bicycles were produced by individual assembly and also distributed. In 1918 the first bicycle wholesale was built in Schweinfurt and further expanded in the following years. Bernd Seuffert, the grandson of the company founder, took over the company in 1956, which at that time already produced around 6000 bicycles per year. In 1963 the first Winora bicycle factory with conveyor system was built in Schweinfurt. In the early 1980s, a new bicycle factory was built to meet the growing demand, triggered by the oil crisis and new health awareness. In 1988, Winora took over the company Staiger (Stuttgart) and founded Winora-Staiger GmbH. In 1997, the company was connected to Derby Cycle Corporation, Cloppenburg. Susanne Puello, the granddaughter of the founder Engelbert Wiener, took over the management. In 2001, Winora-Staiger GmbH and E. Wiener Bike Parts GmbH & Co. KG joined the Winora group.
