Enik was a German bicycle manufacturer based in North Rhine-Westphalia(NRW) made by Emil Niklas, the range included everything from low-end to custom-made The company was founded in 1945 in Arnsberg first as a bicycle workshop by E mil Nik las (hence the company name) after his return from captivity. Within ten years, the company had 34 employees, until 1955 were 100,000 wheels produced annually, in 1980 around 250,000 racing, trekking, city, youth and children's wheels. Enik campaigned for many years with the hand-soldered frames of her wheels. The solderers hit after completion a symbol in the frame by means of which it could be checked at any time who had soldered the respective frame. The own frame production was discontinued in the early 1990s, since then Enik had the frames manufactured on behalf in low-wage countries. However, the wheels were all painted, fitted and assembled in Wenden. Also, Enik was the first manufacturer to offer hydraulic brakes for bicycles designed in collaboration with Magura. The company produced not only classic racing wheels made of Columbus tubes (partly under chrome-plated) and Tange but also wheels for track cycling. In 1971 Emil Niklas' son Anton Niklas took over the company, which from then on was also involved in the racing sector and supported the amateur team of NRW. On 1 May 2007 insolvency proceedings were opened due to insolvency and over-indebtedness. It followed the liquidation. From the bankruptcy estate two former executives bought parts of the production and opened in the neighboring community of Wenden, Friesenhagen, a new bicycle factory under the name "N & W Cycle GmbH". . Enik sponsored the NRW amateur team and junior riders with custom made frames, i think this frameset is one of them. This frame is made out of Columbus SL and SP tubing and Campagnolo dropouts. For sizes smaller than 58, only SL tubing was used, but for the bigger frames, SL just isn't stiff enough, so they made a mix with the SP tubing, thus creating a 27.0 mm seat post diameter. . 61cm center center 62cm center top 58cm top tube
