Gardin Purlple Racing Triathlon

Vintage 1991 Gardin Professional Racing Bicycle that was made in Mississauga by skilled Italian frame builders. Gardin was one of the best brand names for Canadian cycling back in the 1980s-1990s and several Gardins were ridden in the Olympics. Made of French Excell double butted chromoly tubing in the frame and fork. Excell was notable for using super high strength, heat treated steels to produce very thin wall, steel tubesets. They even marketed a carbon reinforced, brazeable tubeset. This tubing is quite rare and uncommon, as is the reverse bend in the seat tube…I am told this was to give the frame a unique triathlon geometry to sit the rider further forward. Has nice welding to finish a beautiful seat cluster top of the seat stays, and a nice narrow rounded fork. Beautiful purple paint theme all over!
